Dr. Jacqueline Purtzki

“It has been my experience that timely interventions can make a significant difference in the developmental trajectory of children and youth after catastrophic injuries or with severe congenital disabilities.”

A consultation for anyone between 0-19 years of age regarding traumatic or a-traumatic neuromuscular skeletal condition. Physical functions, provisional diagnosis, recommendation for further investigation, treatment and rehabilitation services. Approximately 2 hours.

Providing medical/legal opinions in areas of paediatric/adolescent/adult concussion, paediatric traumatic brain injury, paediatric spinal cord injury.

Having been a member of various hospital-based teams for over 15 years with in-depth knowledge of private therapy providers in BC, Dr. Purtzki builds a customized leadership team to address unique rehabilitation needs.

Follow-up and re-evaluation of any rehabilitation plan is critical to success. Dr. Purtzki is available for advice and re-evaluation over the long-term to ensure follow through and strategies that continue to be successful over time.

Telehealth are conference calls to follow up provide advice without a need for patients to travel a long-distance.

In special circumstances, a patient may not be able to travel to BC for assessments. In that situation, an out-of-country assessment can be arranged.

Participate in family team meetings. This can be done in initial consultation or separately.

Children with chronic conditions face new and confusing issues. Dr. Purtzki works with children with spina bifida, traumatic brain injuries and cerebral palsy, helping them transition to adulthood with these conditions. Her focus is to recognize and mitigate their impacts.
